Here are just a few examples of how we convene our global network to make a positive difference in our communities:

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT RESULTS

Time spent by Fung Group colleagues on volunteering continues to increase year on year. In 2019, over 39,000 hours were spent on community engagement activities, such as tree planting, cleaning up our environment and working with children, the elderly, and other vulnerable communities and individuals. There were 466 activities in total across 85 locations, with activities including hands-on volunteering, organizing in-kind donations and fundraisers.

CELEBRATING DIFFERENCES THROUGH SURFING

For the fourth year, colleagues celebrated the life and memory of our former colleague Ken Whalen, by helping to host the annual Ken Whalen Surf Challenge. The event is focused on inclusion and providing access to sports for kids of all abilities and raising funds for the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Since its inception, the event has engaged over 600 kids and physically-challenged athletes to participate in this surfing competition.

HELPING BUILD FUTURE LEADERS

Many of our colleagues have been long-term supporters of the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF), a non-profit organization that transforms some of Cambodia’s most impoverished kids into tomorrow’s leaders. After getting to know the work of the CCF, one of our leaders, Eric Leddel, inspired others to get involved, with colleagues collaborating with CCF to develop a leadership curriculum and organizing workshops on design thinking, public speaking and leadership, which also prompted our suppliers to donate much-needed goods.
